Built for freelancers who sign their own contracts.

ClauseCatch is contract review for people who don't have a legal team — just a deadline and a contract they didn't write.

Why this exists

Every freelancer knows the feeling: a client sends over a contract, it's eight pages of dense legal language, and you have two choices — read it carefully enough to catch the traps (you won't, you're not a lawyer), or sign it and hope. Most people sign and hope.

ClauseCatch was built by an indie founder who lost real money doing exactly that — unlimited revision clauses, IP that transferred before payment, net-90 terms buried in section 12. The kind of thing a lawyer catches in thirty seconds and a busy freelancer misses entirely.

What ClauseCatch does differently

Generic AI can summarize a contract. It can't tell you what a fair freelancer contract should contain but this one leaves out — the missing kill fee, the absent late-payment penalty, the revision cap that isn't there. That gap is where freelancers get hurt, and it's what ClauseCatch is specifically engineered to catch.

Every review gives you three things:

  • What's risky — each clause flagged with a severity score and a plain-English explanation of how it could cost you.
  • What's missing — the protections a fair contract should include, with the exact language to add.
  • What to send — a ready-to-send counter-proposal email, written in a collaborative peer-to-peer tone, not legalese.

What it isn't

ClauseCatch is not a lawyer, and it doesn't pretend to be. It doesn't write contracts — it reviews the ones your clients send you. For high-stakes deals (equity, M&A, anything over ~$50K, or anything you're unsure about), talk to a licensed attorney. ClauseCatch is built to inform the everyday decisions where hiring a lawyer isn't realistic.

Privacy is the point, not a footnote

Your contracts are yours. We never use them to train AI models, we never sell your data, and we don't keep your original files lying around. Read the specifics in our Privacy Policy.
